Bright and colorful surfer-chic beach house

Bright and colorful surfer-chic beach house Surfer Chic House-01-1 Kind Design Benevolent climate and incredible views to the sea make this holiday home a privileged refuge in New Jersey. Designed by interior designer Mona Ross Berman , the 1960’s inspired beach house succumbs to the charms of white, with certain doses of color and geometric patterns. A novel decorative tendency which has been called California Surfer Chic, every corner of this summer house is located in front the sea. “I know that’s not a real design genre, but I didn’t want it to be cliche, the same version of an East Coast beach house you see a lot on the Jersey Shore,” says Berman. The ‘surfer’ part is a relaxed, laid-back feeling. The ‘chic’ is taking all those elements and distilling them in a new way. As a base, the color white, in reference to the sea foam, with a cascade of color, typical of the 1960s poured over it. Bohemian Interiors III

Bohemian Interiors III More bohemian interiors you say? Why of course.... How did I know? A little bird told me. ;) Sometimes I want to re-blog images that I've already posted in the past because they are so darn awesome, other times I actually do re-post them without realizing! If you happen to spot one of those repeat images in any of my posts, please forgive me, though I'm sure you won't mind. ;) I have a post scheduled for this afternoon about the pizza party that my boyfriend and I threw at my mother's house last night. He made all the dough and I took care of the rest, we're a pretty great team, it all came out awesome - we even impressed my uncle, gasp! I wanted to post that right away, but I figured reading a blog full of delicious images of pizza might not be so delicious or appetizing first thing in the morning as you sip your coffee...or tea...or protein shake. Anyway, it is scheduled to post at 11:30 am sharp, check it out. In the meantime, I hope your e

Bohemian Bedroom

Bohemian Bedroom I love our flat, I really do, the location is amazing, the layout is good and we have tonnes of space. However it is a generic rented flat, white walls, ikea furniture and beige carpet and me and Sam aren’t really generic people. Over the last year and a half we have been slowly but surely putting our own stamp on this little place, hanging some of my paintings, adding a bit of furniture and a fluffy green rug, however the bedroom has been kind of ignored. I had this idea in my head of a bohemian bedroom, somewhere really quirky, with an eastern feel, lots of clutter and various eccentricities, reds and golds and fabrics and beads. The only problem is that the flat is rented so we can’t do anything drastic and unchangeable. So I will share with you my inspiration and keep updating the blog on our bohemian bedroom and how this idea in my head actually turns out. So, inspiration… here are a few spaces which I really love. Pinterest is a great way to see how other people h

blue’s romantic side. by victoria comment and we’re back with friday finds after our long holiday hiatus! i hope you’re all getting back into the swing of things and not overwhelming yourself with an abundance of new year’s resolutions. as someone who may have bitten off more than they can chew (ahem, quite literally with new diet goals!) i think it’s important not to put too much pressure on yourself with more than a few goals at once. goals are good, but they shouldn’t kill ya! happy friday, everyone and see you back here on monday! xo, victoria i adore this dramatic bedroom — dark walls paired with that pink bedding is just so cozy. and that fireplace warms it up that much more. velvet is very in these days, and pink velvet is perhaps on fire. i love the idea of one pretty pink velvet chair brightening up an otherwise darkly dramatic room. everything about this fireplace mantel make my heart go pitter pat — that dreamy marble, simple styling and then the lovely way marisa vit
