Ombre Wall

Image
Ombre Wall Between crushes, fascinations and lust-have trends, our sea of inspiration is never-ending, which brings me to my latest obsession… the color MINT! From my manicures to my midnight snacks, I just cant get enough. I took a cue from my go-to hue and decided to inject a happy medium (literally) into my home. A new coat of paint can transform a room and your mood, but choosing the right color can be a little nerve-racking. I dove into this DIY with my head and paint brush held high knowing that Valspar’s Love Your Color Guarantee would be my safety net. Make your home stylish from the floor to ceiling with a freshly painted feeling! To create: Chose three paint colors in a light, medium, and darker shade that hail from the same color family. I chose Valspar’s Ultra Green (light), Beach Blanket (medium), and Sea Treasure (dark). STEP 1: Trim wall with painter’s tape and use a roller to paint entire wall the lightest hue. STEP 2: Paint a bottom panel with the darkest hue. STEP

Ombre wall DIY projects, ideas and suggestions

Ombre wall DIY projects, ideas and suggestions The color of the walls in a room is very important. It can set the mood and it can dictate the theme for the entire room. But it’s very common for people to use more than one color for the walls. Accent walls are very popular and they are a way of introducing color into a room and of making the décor more dynamic. But ombre walls are also a very interesting alternative. Most people choose other options because they thing ombre walls are difficult to obtain. It’s partially true but it’s also true that the effects they create can’t be compared with anything else. Let’s take a look at a few examples. It took around 7 hours for these ombre walls to be painted. The colors chosen are different shades of blue. To create the effects, oil-based paint and an air-based paint sprayer were used. First the lightest color was applied and then the other ones. But you can also make ombre walls in your bathroom. You don’t necessarily have to use paint. Simp

Oh, How Pinteresting – Design, Fashion, Etc. Last week was my first week not taking part in Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday since I first began. It’s nice to have finally been able to get on Pinterest and let my mind wander as I pin. I’m linking up with The Vintage Apple today to show you some of my favorite {and random} pins from this week. My mind has been all over the place, so please pardon my lack of a theme! Nido magazine - Hochbetten

Nido magazine - Hochbetten bed design by rafa-kids I was happy to find in my postbox a Nido Magazine from Germany. Inside there is photo of our boys bunk bed designed by us! Last year I got an e-mail from NIDO, asking me for a few pictures from our sons room and bed. They were busy preparing an article about bunk beds and found my blog really inspiring place for this subject. So here we go - our first published photo! ;-) I really like the other projects in the article. The one from Denmark I was showing already here: collect-furniture-danish-design The white self-build bed looks fantastic. I especially like the space to play under the bed with the window which is giving an extra light to this space + a great storage. The other discovery is a German company colled morgensternundhertling they designed the other bunk bed with a small house where children can hide and play - isn't it great? and of course I'm proud we are in this great selection too ;-D 3 in 1 -bed from Joas - fam

Nesting Dolls Galore

Image
Nesting Dolls Galore Russian nesting dolls, Matryoshkas, are the most famous Russian souvenirs. I shared a shelf full of souvenier Matryoshkas with my sisters when growing up, and seeing the nesting dolls be such a big trend now brings back childhood memories. We have a nesting doll store close by, a huge pink house full of Matryoshkas directly from Russia, and I took kids there one day for shopping. I was surprised that some of the nesting doll sets were over 500 dollars, and also the availability of every cartoon character and celebrity on earth as a nesting doll. I like the folk lore look of the traditional dolls, but I think I might have hard time fitting them in our home. But nesting doll prints have been so popular in the past couple of years, and still going strong that I wanted to look for some cute modern nesting doll products that I like. Nesting Doll I really like the set of three candles would be nice even for the Holidays. The nesting dolls pillows by Thomas Paul run aroun

Neon Fluorescent Touches

Image
Neon Fluorescent Touches Hello friends, it is Leslie here with Color Me Pretty for July. I just got back from Tokyo so I thought it would be fun to share some of my color inspiration from the trip. Similar to last summer, I noticed a wide use of fluorescent colors in home décor items, fashion, stationary and even crafting supplies (read Neon Pink here ). Small blasts of color can really liven things up. I have gathered a few ideas that I hope will get your creative wheels turning. If you cannot imagine anything permanent in your home with such electric color, try introducing a tiny bit on a mood board. I made a little garland using tape and beads in fluorescent pink, yellow and orange. I also found a beautiful card by Emma Cassi that has a perfect fluorescent pink and a calendar card by Catherine Campbell brings in a few more bright tones. Mixing these flashes of color with a sand and white backdrop really speaks to me about summer. Every time I go to Japan I cart back a bunch of bo
